Ergon Europe Distributes Insulating Oil in Flexi Bags to EPE Electro Industries in Algeria

Tue., Aug 26, 2014

Waterloo, Belgium – Using flexi bags, an environmentally friendly form of base oil transportation, Ergon Europe MEA, Inc., (Ergon Europe) transported its HyVolt I insulating oil to the transformer manufacturer EPE Electro Industries (EPE) in Tizi Ouzou, Algeria, near Azgazga. Receiving oil via flexi bag was a new experience for EPE, a leading manufacturer of distribution transformers in North and West Africa.

Flexi bags are cost-effective, eco-friendly containers for base oils and other liquids that are becoming increasingly popular for maritime transportation. The bags are less expensive than traditional oil barrels, and can be recycled and retreated once emptied.

This endeavor was Ergon Europe’s first distribution of specialty oils to Algeria. Ergon Europe and EPE were equally pleased by both the transformer oil quality and its method of delivery.

“We are very excited to be working with EPE Electro Industries, a company with a great reputation for manufacturing high quality transformers,” said Per Klintstam, President of Ergon Europe. “Using flexi bags to deliver HyVolt I was a win for both parties, as it kept costs low and offered us an opportunity to use a more ecologically compatible container for transportation overseas.”

HyVolt I is an uninhibited insulating oil produced from severely hydrotreated naphthenic oil. It fully meets the specifications of IEC 60296 Edition 4, 2012, general specifications.
